What is Old School Maple?
Old School Maple is classic MapleStory as it played before the Big Bang update, rebuilt faithfully. It is a creator-operated world on MapleStory Worlds, the platform Nexon runs, so everyone who plays is also under Nexon's Terms of Service.
The game was officially released on September 1, 2026 with Ver. 1.0, after an alpha that started in early 2025. Release was not the end of development: bugs are still being fixed and content is still being added, and every change goes up on the News page.
Where can I play?
Old School Maple is available on MapleStory Worlds, with native clients for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. The Play on MSW button at the top of this site opens the game's page on MapleStory Worlds.
How big is the world?
Custom server infrastructure takes Old School Maple past MapleStory Worlds' default player cap: 600+ players per channel, across 5 channels.
Did anything carry over from the alpha?
The alpha was wiped at release, so everyone started fresh at Level 1 on Maple Island. What stayed:
- Everything bought in the Cash Shop: cash cosmetics, cash equips and pets.
- Character names.
- Buddy lists.
Alpha players also received an Omnia Medal keepsake from the Maple Administrator, at the tier their account reached during the alpha. The full details are in the release announcement.
Handy commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/ba | Opens the Battle Analysis window, which tracks your damage and EXP. You can also bind it to a hotkey. |
/mapletips | Shows the Maple Tips messages at any time. |
/mswinfo | Reports your MapleStory Worlds region and world instance, for troubleshooting with an admin. |
How do I find a party?
Click the Search button in the Party UI to open Party Search. You can browse parties that are recruiting across the world, or create your own listing and let players apply directly. Listings expire after 1 hour, and are removed if the party leader disconnects.
What are the rules?
There are two sets:
- The Game Rules cover everything in game: cheating and botting, exploiting bugs, account sharing, harassment, scams, and real-money trading (including selling Maple Points or World Coins).
- The Discord Rules cover the community server.
Not knowing a rule does not exempt anyone from it, so they are worth a read.
Where do I report a bug or get help?
On the Discord. Bug reports, feedback and support requests each have their own channels there; please post in the right one. Appeals of enforcement actions go through official channels, including the Discord.
If an admin is helping you with a connection problem, type /mswinfo in game and share what it reports.
Where next?
- Rates & progression: the EXP rates, how party EXP is shared, and the Death Penalty.
- Patch notes: every change, newest first.
